Yup, I lost one front fog protector. I knew one of the clips was a bit iffy but it seemed to be holding on fine.

Looked at it one day, no protector. Have to buy them in pairs - £25ish from your local dealer.

Fitting is a five minute job, just don't break the clips putting the new ones on

Cool

The foglight lens is abt £70!!!! It looks as if the glass ought to be able to be replaced seperately, but it can't.
You'd be better posting for one on here from someone who has had one broken, then upgraded, like I did. I gave mine away for the postage, but never received the postage, abt £3.50!!
If you do post, remember to say which side you want, as they ARE "handed".
Fitting a new foglight is a 5 minute job too- you need a 10 mm socket, and an extension to reach it.
Cheers m8, Alcazar

Took my car in for a service today, and when I picked it up they said that I probably already knew, but there was a hole in one of the fog lights.
"That's strange, is the plastic lens protector broken then?" I replied.
"No, it's not there" was the answer.

Upon closer inspection there is indeed 1 missing protector and a tiny hole in the fog lamp lens - b@gger!!!

The car is a MY99 and is fitted with the Subaru clear protectors over the fogs.

Does anyone know:
How much a new lens is?
How much a new cover is(can you buy one?)?
Where the best place to get them is?
How easy they are to fit?

Has anyone else had the covers come off - or is it likely it just got smashed? I don't really want it to happen again and it kind of defeats the object of having covers if the lens gets broken anyway!

Cheers

Thanks for the replies.

Oh dear - £70 for a new one!!!
I would use the "opportunity" to upgrade to a set of driving lamps but finances are a bit tight this month (as ever).

Presumably if a get a new set of protectors they will fit over the driving lamps when I can afford them?

Maybe I can do a temporary repair in the meantime.

Cheers

Depends what driving lights you get, but it's fairly sure the protectors WON'T fit.
I've just given away a set on here for the postage, as I've got HID's now WITH the protectors- you don't want to break one of THOSE babies!

Or you could get some STi style blanking plates for the price of a foglight (DR Motorsport do them), and sell the other one for a tenner or so (which is what I did).

I might have a spare one in my shed somewhere, I broke one (no protectors!) and went for the driving lamps If you can get over to Bury St. Eds sometime I can give it to you if I can find it.

Hi Andrewza
Which one do you have - I need the nearside (passenger side) foglight?

Pretty sure I busted the drivers side, not sure, will have to look on em for markings as it was a while ago now. Though I suspect with a bit of work they'll mount either way or the lense comes of, just subaru won't sell lense only.
