side/brake lights problem!!!!!!

Every time I apply foot brake the front side lights also come on just as if the two are wired together.

ANY IDEAS ANYONE

The car is a standard MY98 UK TURBO

Check the earth return path- it sounds as if you have a poor earth and one of the lamps is earthing through the other filament.

Nice one, checked that out and found a dodgy connection on rear bulb,new bulb fitted and all SORTED!!! had similar reply on SIDC.
