I was lucky, my stereo has a 24hr digital clock that updates from RDS service.

Buy a watch? Halfords do a neat clock (digital)They also have a combined clock and inside/outside temperature guage. Easy to install but get the one with a permanent backlight and wire in permanently as oposed to the cigar lighter socket.
Very handy to have external ambient temp.
