Since a headlight bulb blew on my car last night and I need to buy a new one, I've decided to spend the extra and upgrade both bulbs. (Then I'll also have a spare - god only knows what I'm going to need that for???).
So, any recommendations and where can I get them in town cos I can't wait for mail order etc.
Cheers,

Oh yeah.. Oops..
Its a MY97 Standard headlight bulb.. was wondering about some equivalents to the Halford All Weather bulbs / lazer blues etc.. would like something brighter, but still legal for everyday road use..

OK.....they are H4 bulbs.
Loads of choice, but price is an issue - range from PIAA at up to £70 a pair to Philips Vision Plus at around £20 pair.
Bearing in mind that the standard lamp unit has poor performance, and you can't polish a turd, there is only so much you can do.
I have used the PIAA, and had lots of them blow prematurely, and recommend the Philips Vision Plus.
Remember when you change them there are a couple of tags inside the rubber connector on the back of the bulb that you have to squeeze in or the plug will not come off the bulb. And, as always, do not touch the bulb envelope with your fingers

I upgraded headlight bulbs via a dealer at £16 per pair. They both lasted 1 year (within 2 weeks of eachother). I have now had the Halford (Brilliant light) versions in for 1 year with no problems.
A good tip is to make sure the lights are switched off before starting the engine as the power supply is not constant on start-up and can reduce bulb life.
