HID conversion for MY00
#1
Is there a HID conversion available for the MY00 turbo (classic shape) If so, any links for me to have a look at?
The lights are really shi*e in these scoobs (as we all know) and I blew a bulb recently so thought *ha* good chance to change for the *bright white* PIAA bulbs but alas the previous owner had been in there before me and already done the mod....and the lights are still shi*e. heaven forbid what the "standard" bulbs were like.

I have a '98 turbo, and have fitted Morettes. You now have two bulbs, one for dip/main, and the second for extra main.
Once set up (take it to an MOT station £5), they're about 150% better than the originals, and that's with standard bulbs. I now run Philips Vision Plus 50% brighter on the dip/mains, and the results are worth the outlay.
Have to say the Morettes look the dog's danglies too, esp colour coded. Got mine from TSL, v. helpful.
BTW, this may be a stupid question, but are you sure the OE lights are set up right? I remember having a rally Escort years ago, bought some Lucas "Flarepath" rally lights for it. Thought they were crap, and was going to sell 'em for Cibies when a friend spent half an hour with me setting 'em up on a deserted road. Then it was daylight.
Have you thought of replacing the fogs with driving lights? My hid's come today Hooray!!
I also had a v.small pair of driving lights made by Raydyot fitted either side of the No. plate, complete with 130w bulbs. Ace, until a stone went through one, wouldn't have believed it possible the size they were was amazing light output. Mounted to underside of bumper using hollow wall metal anchors-now they're not there anymore the anchors are out of sight.
Hope some of this is of help
Also BTW: Scooby sport do an hid conversion for the classic shape headlight, but hid's are dear............

Check out Bellof dual filament (high and low beam) HID conversions at www.sigmaautomotive.com
You simply replace your existing bulbs with the HID bulbs and find somewhere suitable to mount the ballasts and hey presto.
Its not going to cure the problem of poor reflector design, but it will be a massive improvement.
P.s they're available in 3 different colour temperatures - 4,300k(std HID), 5000k (more blue colour) and 6000k (blue/purple)
They're expensive too £800ish !!
I fitted a single filament 6000k version on my bike (its awesome).
