What electrical supply???
Hey everyone
I've got a 1999 impreza 2000 uk turbo, and I was just wondering if anyone of you could tell me what electrical supply is to the back of the "bright" switch on my centre console!? And what colour wires are what!!
Cheers
Carl

How many wires are there? I've never had mine out.
Do you have one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUTO-CAR-L...item1c209d3025
Or a multimeter? You can then test the wires to see if they are live, and with the m/m, at what voltage.
Why do you want to know?

I've got access to a multi metre to be honest was taking a shortcut just to see if anyone new of the top of there head!! (Bit lazy, my bad)
Pretty sure there was two wires into the switch so next time I'm with the car I'll buzz across and see what's what!!
Potentially want to use the switch for some footwell lights

Why? If so, it's an on-off.
Off means your lights are bright, on means resistance in circuit and lights dim?
So....if you want to use it for anything else, simply remove the connector at the rear, and either tape it up, (lights stay bright), or bridge it with a wire, and tape it up, (lights stay dim).
Then you can use the switch as a spare.
Or is that not what you want to do?

OK.
You can pick up a supply from under the dash, remember that under there you can have:
Permanent live, (on all the time).
Switched live, (on when the IGN is on first click, ie: like radio)
Engine live, (on when the engine is on, or running).
It's up to you to decide when you want the lights to operate. You can find which is which using that circuit tester I showed above.
