All,

On Monday this week I got an insurance quote from well known Irish based insurance company (for a standard UK Impreza Turbo). I was delighted when the quote was £700 less than my renewal from my current insurer.

Anyway, I called them back this morning to ask about methods of payment etc and when the call centre agent brought up my details she hold me that there was a problem she put me on hold and when she returned she said that they couldnt provide cover on those types of vehicles - after giving me the quote and reference number, with no problem on Monday!!!

Needless to say I'm feckin raging!!! How can they turn around and say that now???

Can any of you recommend an insurance company?

I`m with Admiral online. Cant see them being £700 cheaper but at least they will quote you. Insurance at the minute is always going to be painful esp on a grp17 car.

Try Elephant - they seem to have a glitch with BT8. Always comes out at half the price anyone else can give. Might be lucky for your postcode as well
