Euro ADRENALINE Blast 2009 is here!!
Euro ADRENALINE Blast 2009
07th to 14th June
07th to 14th June
What is the Euro Blast? Well its all in the name. A blast of a road trip that takes you across onto mainland Europe, to explore, revel, and drive your car as it was designed to be driven! To challenge your skills and resolve amongst like minded people who want to have a great time, and to discover some of the most incredible roads and scenery available.
We run these Euro Blasts every other year, each with its own theme: For this next adventure between the 07th & 14th June 2009 we are adding an extra twist? We understand that people like you not only like to drive your cars hard, to celebrate in the finer nuances of the information transmitted up from the black top, through the palms of your hands and the seat of your pants, but to also feel that pulse of adrenaline rushing through your veins from different activities.
So with that mind-set we now bring you the Euro ‘Adrenaline’ Blast!
The route through the tight and unrelenting switchbacks of the Pyrenees combined with the open and smooth fluency of the Alps will most certainly have you buzzing, but how about preparing your heart and mind for the adventure by spending a morning on a simply incredible little known race circuit? Which has the Pyrenees as its backdrop and the same new blacktop as that laid on Paul Ricards fine surface. Or becoming the ultimate stunt man (optional) who jumped seemingly to his death off the Dam in Goldeneye? This is the highest bungee jump in the world at 220m (780ft), and the longest at nearly 8seconds of free-fall, where you achieve a speed close to terminal velocity; 8seconds may not not sound much until you count it out, try it. You can see that we at Track Masters do speed in many different forms. If you are scared of heights, you can watch, enjoy some well earned R&R, explore the local passes, or go canyoning in a wetsuit with the new team of friends you have made.
Now you cannot tell us that does not have you salivating with intent? A daily hit of adrenaline from different pursuits that will keep you on your toes, keep you smiling and laughing with disbelief or wonder. Then there are the evening beers to sup as we all re-group and chatter about the day’s incredible adventure.
The Adrenaline Blast Journey
Day 1 – Rendezvous on Sunday 07th June in Pau, France.
Day 2 – Track attack. A morning spent on Pau Arnos Circuit, limbering up for the assault on the Pyrenees that afternoon. You will get a lunch prepared for you by the circuit. Then off you go through forests, along valleys floors, over rocky plateau’s and up and down many mountain passes; destination Ordessa Canyon.
Day 3 – After waking to a wonderful view of the Canyon, you head west to the coast, travelling over more excitingly demanding peaks, and along twisting passes. When you arrive by the surf in the afternoon, you can spend time on the beach or just in the bar.
Day 4 – Waving the sand goodbye, it is destination Nice, Cote d’Azur. An easy day, a little meandering and picturesque motorway followed by an absolutely stunning drive through the Gorges du Verdon (featured in many car magazines and on Top Gear), before joining the infamous Route Napoleon that will take you down towards the sea with Cannes in view, then along the Promenade des Anglais. A night out in the old province town of Nice awaits, with its many bars, restaurants and clubs.
Day 5 – Leaving Nice for the Col de Turini (Monaco WRC stages), and Europe’s highest mountain pass at over 2800m are just two of the long list of famous roads and tarmac rally stages you will tackle and delight in, with their long, steep and sinuous tarmac before rolling up in the historic Baroque town of Rivoli, just outside Turin.
Day 6 – A potentially nervous morning blast into Switzerland for the adrenaline hit of your lives, jumping off the Dam, with 8seconds of free-fall. Then after gathering your frazzled thoughts and arrested the shaking from the incredible ‘trip’ you have just completed you have two legendary Swiss passes before winding up near Interlaken, with the monster Eiger (3970m) and Jungfrau (4158m) mountains as your back drop. The smile fixed on your face, will, I very much doubt relent for some time.
Day 7 – You head north for Luxemburg, utilising the stages from the German WRC. We are staying in the centre of town, with inspiring views from the hotel terrace. The night spent in the city’s heart and party district.
Day 8 – Sadly it is time for home, but not before you have sampled the best and most deserted roads the French countryside has to offer.

The second was to drive the last part of Day 3 and the first half of Day 4. The Swiss passes we know and love very well, and Luxemburg is favourite haunt for Euro Combo stop overs.

Put me down for a twin, though passenger isn't conifrmed yet. Money to the usual account Stormy?
Are there any deals on ferries? What are you suggesting, Dover - Calais and drive, or the long ferry Portsmouth - Bilbao? Quite fancy 36 hours of no driving (and plenty of drinking) to start the holiday off!!

I just need to check my works diary when I go back on the 5th Jan 2009 and then I can say for sure - lets just say it would have to be something damn important to keep me away
Besides Stormy you need a in your rear view mirror to keep you going, n'est pas?
Right, now where's that damn start button again - oh yeah there it is

happy new year
Thanks for confirming guys, believe me with the Euro Im losing sleep so with you guys confirming it eases the stress. If you wish to pay deposit use TM normal details please.
Ferrys hmmm, Speed Ferries have gone bust
Couple of options
1. Ferry to Bilbao, its a 2.5 hour drive to Pau from City. Then Calais Dover home.
2. Ferry to Cherbourg/Le Harve doesnt save much time and expensive
3. Tunnel/Ferry to Calais looking for something competitive
4. Ferry to St Malo (over night) tempting, saves 2 hours on trip think the Ferry leaves at 20:30 on the Saturday night.
Me Im thinking of Dover Calais on the Tunnel at the mo.

I'm in so far...
Either a single room, or willing to share at the mo. Channel crossing - will have to check the options.

Spoke to Paul (Scooby66) and he won't be coming with us this year as he's spent all his money on his garden (it does look very good I hasten to add).
Tony- if you want to share a twin room mate
Stormy - I need to know how and when you want the deposit, please email me details
