OK people, how do the above dates sound? Its Easter Weekend and we get to spend 3 full days on track with the possibility of Monday Morning on track too if required.
Plan is to leave on Thursday midday and return late Monday, the Northern Loop is open all day on Friday/Saturday/Sunday and Monday! Ive been looking at the Eurotunnel Website and the prices for these dates are around £150 per car.
Please post on here for comments on the above dates, Easter Weekend is normally busy at the Ring but you get to see some fantastic vehicles there.

Harj,
I may have to rethink my strategy for this year as a speeding ticket just completely ruined my budget.
The ticket is from last november when coming back from the Ring. My first ticket since 1993...
Probably the adrenalin rushing or something, but I did a full blast 35.3 MPH in a 31.5 MPH area (Monschau) :eek. Costs me 9 UKP no less Yup, those Germans are thorough.
Roll on Easter weekend !

Let me know the details and projected costs so I can sort out a few days off work.... are we B&Bing it or what?...and how much would a co driver be expected to subsidise fuel if not actually driving? ps I'm not chipping in for those extortionate speeding fines!!LOL

Richard it depends on who you travel with really, I would suggest splitting the cheap European Fuel Costs. Hotel is about £20 per night and it included Breakfast, theres a great little pub next to ti which can stay open till 5am as I found out.
The more passengers there are I suppose it brings the cost of the trip down for the drivers.

If this date is on i will postpone my track day on the Saturday/Sunday at Anglesay and come to Germany. Whaaaahey.
Looking for a passenger to sit in comfort in a bright red recaro seat, and nudge me to keep me awake on the long drive. LOL
Again i will be coming down from Wigan, and dont mind picking someone up.

Hi Matt Type R,
I'm still very interested for these dates.
I don't mind chipping in towards the cost of Super either.
I'm in Stoke, so on the way past.
I'll find you at Donnington on Sunday (I think you are going on track....?)
Cheers,
Chris.

OK this is what ive sent to a couple of people!
Were looking to leave the UK on the Thursday 12th April around miday Eurotunnel Crossing, its then 4-5 hours drive from Calais by keeping a steady pace. Friday morning we hit the Ring (Northern Loop) 1 lap is around £6 but some of us will be buying a 12 Lap pass that can be used throughout the stay there, its not advisable to give the cars death on the 1st 2nd or 3rd day as its not a track day. Maybe 7 or 8 gentle laps of the 13 mile circuit each day as we have Friday, Saturday and Sunday on track.
Great Hotel which is 4* and included Breakfast, also great little pub and restaurant next to the Hotel which last time closed at 5am and I won’t forget that night in a hurry Fuel is cheaper in Europe, about a 3rd of a tank cheaper than the UK and its 98 Ron.
Were planning on returning home on the Monday, maybe coming back into the UK late afternoon or early evening as we did last time.
Costs are around:
Eurotunnel £150 per car
Hotel £20 pppn
Fuel Dependant on car
Ring Pass Around £60 for 12 laps and they are long laps = 156 miles
Beer and Food is dirt cheap compared to UK Prices!
Maybe think about Travel insurance if required and European Breakdown.
Also don’t forget to get a Greencard from your insurance company.
My advice is to get someone to share the cost with you on the way ie Tunnel crossing and Fuel which brings the cost right down or maybe take a couple of your mates.
The above is a brief outline which is subject to change without notice LOL So come one everyone, class it like a little holiday.
Hope this helps

Harj,
I'm quite tempted by this trip but may not be able to travel until the Thursday night or Friday.
Which hotel would you be staying at and can it be booked online?

Hi all,
Just a few stills from the camcorder taken during last October's visit to wet your appetite/remind you of the fun that was had. Note the changes in elevation and the proximity of the armco. There's no ride in the UK quite like this one.

Yes, but not on a Sunday. It's illegal!!! Everything car-related is closed except for the recovery garage. Tyres can be expensive over there, a friend paid almost £200 for a 17" PZero.
Not many of the locals speak English, so if you learn a few words that would help. Otherwise, the Dutch and Belgian guys are pretty good at half the languages in Europe. They're also quite friendly and are only too pleased to help. There'll probably be dozens of them around on the Sunday and the Monday to keep an eye on you. See below for proof.

I've got the time off work, just dependant on getting a ride over.
I've got offers from Ian/555 and Matt (Type R) but probably won't know any more until Friday.
