Is this true - we have heard that the police are now to be found around Exmuhle with speed detectors to enforce the "speed limit" and I guess nick offenders.

Can anybody confirm this??? (we are due out in June)

I saw one car doing the speed limit. So im thinking there are a lot of tickets to be handed out ......

It has been muted in the past that a speed trap was in operation. I havent seen it, but cant 100% rule out that it wont happen. I think word would get around pretty quick though.

I dont think you need worry though Bigman, you wont be going quick enough to set it off anyway

Gary, I take it you got home ok, saw you coming out of the car park Monday said hello as I was going in, I was in with Phil's car when he broke his gearbox and you were talking to him as we were queing to come off . Has anybody got pic's of me going backward through Wiperman cars ok just a bit of cosmetic damage, my pride is hurt more . hoping to get over there again in the next month or so when she is back as she was.

Dave, I could make up a lot of excuses' on why I ended up going backwards through Wiperman, to be really honest it was just a bad driving error on my behalf and also a bit of showing off with a new passenger onboard a mistake I will never make again . I think what happened was that I mounted the rumble strip a bit high on the little left hand bend which in turn unsettled the car and unbalancened her and ended up doing a 180, hitting the barrier ( very,very slightley....so the marshalls say !!!!! ) costing me e500 . This little accident will never put me off going to "The Ring" it was just a little reminder on how dangerous this place really is !

I have seen a Polizei holding a speed gun at the entry to Breidscheid.

This was on a very busy day though.
The locals seem to think speeding is ok, BUT, if you have an accident there and were exceeding the limit you will be in hot water.

I don't know how many of you have tried entering at the bridge entrance.
It would be bloody difficult to do safely if everyone was tanking through on a busy day withfew gaps in the traffic.

FWIW, I always keep approximately to the limits, so if you follow me through Weirseifen, you have been warned !

 

I've never seen any speed traps at Breidscheid. The limit signs go from 90 to 70 to 50kmh over the bridge. As DocJock says, if you have an off there because of speeding, you could well find yourself not being covered by your insurance and be in deep doodoo.

Sabine got an official telling off for speeding in the taxi there and she and the Viperjet always slow down there now.
