Hi Al,
everyone said changing the DP would be horrible, and I would break bolts etc etc... but with a 20cm ring spanner I managed to single handedly remove the old pipe and mount the new one within 1/2 hr! While there I also changed the old pipes from the intercooler to black Samco ones.
The new side skirts are now on and look very nice (coloured blue), and we also fitted the new air splitter - which seems to work (as you could see the mist one both the front and rear of the intercooler after driving for a bit in the fog) - where previously only the rear half received this.
The Xenons went in quite well too - a fit of fiddling to find a good postion but now it is magically different!
well what a change... with the decat downpipe I noticed a small reduction in torque low down, but on the autobahn back to steve´s the needle split the number 260 right down the middle - subsequently scaring myself silly I then retuned to a nice normal 180kph.-
Pics to come....

I really don't want to rain on your parade guys, but running decat systems with a standard ECU (no re-map) on a MY99/00 at very high speeds is just asking for a meltdown...
I realised this too late... although with the PPP I was safer than you guys .
Just warning you, hate to be a propheseer of doom! Because Beemer-baiting is such fun

Richard, you sound a little bitter mate (or should that be bitten?)!!! I also have a new theory for why your engine went bang... its the non-standard quick shift meant that you've been changing gear too quickly and therefore not letting the engine cool down enough between gear changes (average higher revs) thus engine bang! You should have gone for the Prodrive quickshift that takes 0.000000001s longer and protects your engine! ....maybe!
Steve, I though the speed limit through that tunnel is 120 Still, you motor sounds better in the tunnel at 220 ...not that it sounds at all bad at 120 either
Neal, have to agree with Richard about a re-map and a fruity back box would also be nice... can you not convince some of your nice collegues to do a bit of tuning work on a real car for a change!

Rich if you can find someone in Germany that can do a remap I would be first in the queue!!! I only know of one place and that is Koch Engineering down near Friedberg near the Swiss border! and there is no way I am paying the rip off exhabitant price in the UK for one.
