Nurburgring - Easter 2003 - Finally!
#1
Right,
Apologies for not putting this up sooner, but I've been away and have also moved house, so things have been pretty hectic. Following on from the last post, I've decided that it would be better to switch the May Bank Holiday trip to Easter. The track is open for 4 days over Easter, and whilst it will undoubtedly be busy, i think that it will give us the best chance for tracktime
The costs are as follows:
Chunnel is £143 per car. Split this by number of potential occupants and the price seems OK. It's about £30 more than a ferry. Concensus on the last trip was that the chunnel was preferable. I propose to leave at 10:30 on the Friday and return on Monday at 18:30
Hotel costs can vary, usually between £20 and £40 per night depending on single or double room and this includes breakfast.
Fuel cost varies. It's 287 miles approximately from Calais to the Ring. It could be one tank or 3, depending on how you drive!
Laps are about £8 each, and tickets can be purchased at the circuit. Reckon on about 4 - 6 laps per tank of juice. I'd expect to return about 9mpg at the most. It's probably the most expensive part of the weekend! It's also the most fun!
******IMPORTANT BIT COMING UP*******
Anyone wishing to come must book their own crossing. Mine is booked and the dates/times are as above. If you require accomodation, please e-mail me as per my profile and state how many people/rooms you require. The cut off date for this as far as my involvement goes will be Monday March 3rd. I will take all the names and details that have been sent to me by that date, and attempt to book us all into the same hotel/guesthouse. If we leave it any later I reckon that we probably won't be able to book anywhere!
Any other queries can be mailed to me or posted here and collectively I'm sure we can all find the answers!
Look forward to seeing you at Folkestone!
Matt

Hi Andy,
Things are good thanks mate. How about you? Still got the STI, or have you gone back to a P1? I'll put you on the list.

Matt. when is Easter?
Taxi...........
Seriously, will decide in next week if going (90% there!), and will either be in ML or M5.
Might have to bring Blonde though, so is my ex wife going?

Stevie,
Not sure if your ex-wife can make it, but she said that if you were going she might make the effort!
BTW, You don't want an M5! They're far too good for you! LOL

Matt,
Just curious, what did you edit out?
M5 too good for me? Oh yes. Would'nt buy one, that's why I'll have it on standby if the weather looks good, if the forecast is crap we will break in to the 4wd selection (Now at 4 with a V10 ToeRag ordered!)

Actually Matt it would be an achievement if he'd let me drive through a carwash or just sit in the drivers seat pretending to drive by turning the steering wheel and making silly noises!

Its OK Rich always smells like that!
Anyway swiftly back to lap times!
Matt: I would love to try, actually one day i'd really like to take the pug across, just need a bit more money (+ some extra brake pads )
At the moment whats stopping me is the thought of going off in it or someone hitting me, can't afford the insurance .
