Anyone fancy a trip to Germany over the May Bank Holiday weekend?

I'm trying to get a trip together for the following dates. This is not Subaru exclusive obviously, as the more the merrier. Hopefully some of the Skyline boys will come along too, as will the odd Ferrari and Porker.

May 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th. The 5th is Bank Holiday Monday, so in theory, only 1 day off work!

Plan is to catch the Eurostar on the Friday morning and then travel to Nurburg arriving mid-afternoon. Ring on Saturday and Sunday and then back on Monday. Can either Ring on Monday morning then dash back, or take a more leisurely drive. Have to see what the concensus is.

Costs are usually about £150 for the chunnel. £75 - 100 for hotel for 3 nights. Fuel (varies) and food and booze and of course the laps you do. Travelling costs can be split depending on number of passengers. Easy Peasy!

There are no dates as yet for the Ring opening times. At the moment this is just an assumption that the Ring will be open all day that weekend. It was last year, so I see no reason why it shouldn't be this year.

Anyone up for it?

Matt

Matt,

Was there last year with Mike Rainbird.

I'm driving this year, so do us cossie boys get an invite?

Ring was closed last year on the Monday morning though, for testing for some pretty high powered machinery though.

Richard,

All are welcome. Would be great to have some Cossies along for their annual pilgrimage!

Chris,

I'll compile a list after a week or so and we'll get an idea of numbers.

Anyone wishing to mail me directly can do so. It's MattOz@sun.com

Same for what Mike Rainbird said "count the Cossie lot in", hopefully trying to get some of the Essex RS'ers to come along too, the more the merrier.

Will give me a chance if all is well to open my car up and see what she can do!!

Unhappy

Just had a look at the opening times for the weekend that I've suggested and it appears that the Ring is not open on the Saturday. This means that effectively we'd be travelling out there for only 1 day on track, i.e the Sunday. The Ring is open on the Friday evening and again on Monday evening, but we'll be back on the chunnel by then!

Might be worth re-arranging or going at Easter. What do you reckon. I just feel that it's a long way to go for only one day on track and 3 nights in the hotel.

Who'd be up for Easter?

Matt

John, Easter is looking like a better bet at the moment. The Ring is open for all 4 days, so might be able to squeeze a couple of laps in here and there.

Know what you mean All I need to do is book a room.

I'm going over on the 17th, leaving on the 21st, spending the rest of the week at EuroDisney. Wifey ain't happy that I'm going to the Ring first

Red face

Matt,
Could you please pick and set a suitable date, so that I can inform the Cossie lot! Some have already booked May and we need to give as much notice as possible so they can rebook their hols.
