Default Newbie with a A/C control question!

Hi guys this is my first post on here and I'm just trying to get a grasp of how interchangeable the interior parts are on a '99 impreza turbo 2000.

Basically i want to know if the heater/AC control unit can be taken out and the unit from the forester 97-02 model would fit? It looks as if it should but i don't know about the wiring it in if that would be a ball ache?

This is the link to the two:

Impreza unit -

Forester unit -
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2514003992...84.m1438.l2649

Any help would be much appreciated oh and while I'm here can anyone tell me which version a '99 plate is lol?

Cheers Dale..

It would fit, but not work without serious modifications.

You have AC and the Forester is Climate control. As your dials for adjusting are cable driven, you'd have to really MacGyver it to make it work.
Here is a link to how its done when the Impreza climate control (JDM only) is swapped for the Forester one:

As for what version a 99 is, purist's will say only STi models have a version, but in terms of cosmetics, it would be a Version 5.
