Has anyone got a few pictures of the Defi gauges in situ (i.e. Centre pod on MY99 / 00) so we can decide if we want 52 or 60 MM gauges. A couple of each would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Question

Can someone who already has these gauges post some pics of them in their cars. It would be good to see what the 52mm and 60mm one's are actually like in the car.

I've a gut feeling the 60mm one's might look too big.

Ozzy,

That's what I was looking for a picture of the 52mm and the 60mm gauges inside the car, so I can decide what type I want.

Ok found these:

Courtesy of Chiarks site:

I believe 52mm Defi's if I am not mistaken.

From a post from SManning in the Members Gallery:

Again 52mm Defi's, sorry to steal your pic - Bugger now I don't think these are Defi's I could be mistaken could be HKS?!

Finally found this, they are 60mm Greddy gauges in a Defi pod (From a US Site) in a New Age but gives a size compaison.

Go to Nito's new site, they have pics of their carbon hood with 60's in there and a pic of a GGR pod with 52mm Defis:

Yeah, I've just had a look.

They are much bigger looking in those shots. I think it's the 52mm ones for me.

Thanks again,
Stefan

Well, I might get an EGT gauge later on, so would want to move the boost onto the steering column (like Nito's car). Think the 60mm would be as big as the steering wheel

If you use the Steering column mounts as per Nito's car they recommend 52mm's otherwise they obscure part of the clocks if you go for the 60's

Wouldn't have thought so, I've got a couple of friends one with 60mm's and one with 52's installed, they all do the same thing, just size preference.

Looking at SimonJ's pics, the 60's do look a tad on the large side.

Think I'll stick with Matt's 52mm one's.

Matt, any chance of a wider-angled shot of your whole dash?

Are they backlight so that you can see them at night? Does the plastic of the pod quite closely match that of the dash in terms of colour, quality, texture, etc?

Phil, backlight is very close to that of the original dash. Maybe tomorrow I'll take a pic in the dark for you so you can see (assuming I can get it to come out).

Sb my pod isn't far off match wise, hasn't really got the same texture, but who cares - they look so good
