Default Best Double Din for Android Phone

Hello

Hoping to get some advice from someone who knows a bit about car stereos. I have wrx hawkeye sportwagon, best car I've ever had.

Currently have a Pioneer 2400BT which works well with ,iphone. I am getting rid of everything Apple - pissed off with everything they do. So I have bought HTC One.

Will probably need to upgrade my stereo - preferably without causing too much disruption to my car interior
And looks.

Has anybody any advice ? Lookin at Internet he Pioneer AppRadio 2 seems OK, but has very mixed reviews. Would fitting another pioneer unit be a plug and play job?

Thanks for help - hopefully not everyone has been brainwashed by Apple

I've got one of these, brilliant head unit for the money and works perfectly with my old Desire HD

http://www.alpine.co.uk/p/Products/c...s19/cde-w235bt

Can be bought for £150 if you shop around

Cheers. That one is good but really want more screen, less buttons. I am easily impressed by big screens and gimmicks

I've got the w530bt from Alpine and attach an iPod by USB and Galaxy s3 via bluetooth.

Both devices work perfectly.

I tried it and it was awful even with Arliberator on it so it went back. I've just got the Parrot Asteroid Smart instead which was a big improvment but expensive.

FonZey - were you able to change tracks and see any track information on the stereo when using our abdroid device. Or did you just get the same results as a 3.5mm jack

MDS-WRX - thanks for feedback. Confirms my fears that it was ****e. Sorry but i have no idea what a parrot asteroid smart is - thought parrot was a just a bluetooth add on. Don't suppose you use a HTC one as well?

Thanks for info !

The asteroid smart is a double din unit that runs android as well so does most of the functionality itself but interacts with my phone when it needs to, and does it very well. I'm on a HTC one xl.

You can skip tracks with the HU controls no worries, I THINK you can see track info with Android via USB, and even Album Art - though I connect using Blutooth (you get track info and no album art via BT) so I can't remember.

My phone USB cable is at work, so if I remember I'll test it on my way home tomorrow.

Cheers. Hope you let me know how you get on. Will investigate this smart parrot.

Get the feeling that as apple declines in the next few years that there will a boom in android capable stereos - just not at the moment unfortunately

Asteroid smart looks very good. Would if fit where the 2400bt is without any major work MDS (assume your bad appradio 2 was same size as my 2400bt)?

Sony 601BT is the best double din headunit. The mirrorlink function with android is amazing.
