Default Alternative to flocking?

Hi there.

As i am from country that has zero to none evolved tunning/racing pedigree i dont have any decent option to get my parts flocked.

One option would be that i could strip whole impreza put everything on a pallete and ship it to UK and back, but only shipping would cost me around 400 pounds.

So i was thinking something along the lines of covering everything with textile(black micro fibre or something).

Any one done something like that?

....oh yes excuse my English

I've been thinking the same.... looking at doing my interior in faux Suede. (dash, door cards, roof and a & b pillars)

Just gotta get some crap fabric to test my machining skills out and then have a play Found a supplier for the suede just gotta decide on the colour

Where are you located, the UK isn't the only country that does flocking, might be something available closer to home.

I have seen dashboards wrapped in alcantara and look very good, pretty sure there are different types of the fabric that stretch more or less depending on the application. I think the hard part DIY would be getting a nice finish around the edges though?

^ So true.......

Got an industrial sewing machine in doors so just need the specialised double stitch foot and I'll give it a go.

Thinking about Faux Suede or Moleskin in grey/black with red stitching...watch this space

Faux suede is a good option but you need to get 4-way stretch so it will stretch across all of the complex curves - I've tried 2 way stretch on my parcel shelf which is too complex with my 6x9 builds, but was okay on my roof lining

That has worked really well. I particularly like the alcantara steering wheel.

I wonder how much all that cost...
