Default Heater vent removal

Can anyone tell me how to remove the heater vents on an 06 WRX please? I am trying to get at the ones in the centre console above the stereo head unit. A screw has appeared from somewhere an is sitting against the vents and the rattling is annoying.

Thanks.

You need to extend the cup holder and you will see two screws on either side of the holder. Undo those and pull the unit out, you may need to pull the top of the stereo facia out at the this point as the cup holder has a hook type thing that can catch on the facia. Once the cup holder has been removed the vents simply just pull up they are tight so pull fairy hard and be careful as the hazard switch stays in the vents and you don't want to break any wires.

Hope that helps mate. Should only take you 5-10 mins

A small magnet on a piece of string usually saves you a load of work
