Default Speedo Swap

The speedo on my Bug WRX stopped working and I've picked up a set of late Blob WRX dials assuming that they where a straight swap - best bit being that the blob dials only had about 6000 more miles that my current bug set.

It is becoming clear that this may not be a straight swap; can anyone shed any light on whether these should be plug'n'play as I am getting the following issues with them:-

Speedo 'zeroes' at 25mph
Rev counter over reads idles at approx 2500rpm
ABS light stays on
Handbrake warning light stays on
Temp gauge reads in the red on start-up from cold

I have no issues with re-wiring if it is as simple as that or should I sell these on and get some more bug one - these look so much better

Thanks in advance

Jon

Hi Jon, I fitted a set of blob STI clocks to my wrx bug and it was straight plug and play
everything works 100% perfect, even the gear change light.

Update...

Tried again today and nothing changed initially, but having been inspired by Cuprajake's speedo makeover I stripped the clocks down and plugged them in, ignition on and watched all the dials move off their zero stops. I then pulled off the needles and re-fitted them all at zero. Took the car for a spin and using my PSI3 to cross-check the readings the speedo and rev counter now work fine, temp gauge is fubarred

Need to swap the heat and fuel gauge out of my old dial set into the new one and swap over the facia and needles to match.

Final bit will be to do this fix as detailed by AndyGC8( of Richard Henry Motorsport fame)

Big thanks to Cuprajake (for inspiration) and Andy for the how to

Will get this lot finished after the MOT so as not to pressure myself
