I have a 2002 WRX Wagon and have been after some STI seats, but have the problem that wagon seats are rare and a saloon rear bench wont fit.

Last night my mate offered me a full unused 2011 STI interior for pennies - he builds rally cars so obviously the interiors get stripped straight out. He warned me that the seats werent very supportive so he loaned me the drivers seat to try out. I fitted it straight away last night, it was in the car for a good 30 seconds before I took it back out, he was right.

So why are 2011 seats so unsupportive compared to previous generations? My standard 2002 WRX seats are much deeper. Are Subaru catering to a generation of fat people who dont fit in buckets?

Shame as the cloth is a good match for the originals and the seat looked good in the car
