Centre Console...what do you have?

Ok so i'm picking up my first impreza tomorrow and it has the following on the centre of the console...

what the hell isit? just a storage flap?
A friend has a barometer in his and another just a glovebox type...

What other options was there? anypics?

The 1p option is it's just a storage box. Otherwise, it could be a false front on some gauges or a performance meter or similar. That housing normally holds up to three gauges and would replace a dash-top box/lid.
