Not got a pic at the moment, but I've noticed them on Newage and pre-facelift classics are both on the heater controls. The only seems to be about 2cm squared, just 4 or 5 lines.

On my facelift classic, they are to the bottom left of the speedo cluster surround.

There is nothing behind mine, and it almost looks like a small speaker might have gone there.

 

Its where the air is sucked when it measures the air temp, for when heater is set onto auto and you select the temp you want (basic climate control).

There is also one on the missus's toyota, and its always bugged me. Cheers

 

Lol, well I know mine has AUTO and I`m guessing in that they made the one panel for all.

 

I always thought it was for a buzzer to sit behind, for doors open, or something.

Obviously, removed from UK classics.........along with virtually everything else
