Basically this fooking double DIN head unit needs to come out.. Previous owner bodged it in, I don't like it at all so it's on Ebay and needs to come out... But, it appears to be behind the fascia?? He's also cut away the surrounding fascia to make it fit which i'm staggered at! How do I remove the surrounding fascia including the heater controls etc?
dead easy, here goes;
where the gear stick gaitor is, grab the piece of trim 'behind' nearest the centre console and pull back sharply, this will reveal 2 screws near the ashtray, undo these screws, then slowly begin pulling the fascia out, you will need to get a flat screwdriver and carefully insert near the top of the stereo surround (just under the air vents) as there are some clips there, these will pop out and then the whole fascia unit will come off

This is what I was looking for http://www.ehgp.com/public/impreza_my05_hu_removal/
Again thanks, complete life saver.. It now looks though like i'll have to replace the fascia as previous chaver, sorry owner, took a sodding stanley knife to it to make that head unit fit... Egay here we come

A well as that head unit he also felt it necessary to fit an interior LED light, those cacky illuminous blue dials (which you can make green too!!
), a fecking string of LED's in the bonnet scoop, rear number plate light LED's and didn't even bother to secure the gauge pod to the dash!bell end...
