Default Help with Defi Genome fitment

Hi,
I have just bought a set of Defi Genome gauges for my 55 plate STi type uk. I have managed to fit everything except for locating the plug for the dc source that powers the control unit. Any ideas where under the steering column the plug is? I have tried reading the instructions but they are in japanese. I fear i may have to cut off the plug and locate perm live, switch live, sidelight input and earth seperately.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

would that not defeat the purpose in having gauges to warn you of low oil pressure? Can't say I pay much attention to mine once the car is warmed up unless the beep and then i do woryy.

Surley you can just put the ignition to the next click so that the radio stays on but the defi are not powered up? Thats what i do

Ebay motors Japan expect import tax and high prices though. I got mine brand spankers with everything required. To all that had an input with the original querie many thanks they are now fitted. There was issues taking all the feeds from the clock so had to use the ISO plug at the back of my stereo (saved on breaking standard wiring looms). Pics to follow soon.

Sorry to bring up an old'ish post but thought my question was related, I not found instructions for these older Defi versions, I've aquired a used Genome set from japan, have wired them in and they work appart from illuminating, except during the start up sequence (so I know the bulbs work).
Could someone remember if they only light up with the sidelights on or should they have a day setting and night (lights-on) setting like the normal Defi's using the later version Controller II unit??

Thanks

hello mate i have the same dials they illuminate on a switch live like your lights turn to side lights or main beam and they will light up they illuminate when you switch your ignition on because that is part of there start up sequence to inform you that everthing is A ok with there functioning.the genome dials are practicly the same as the early defi dials.so dont worry yourself.
