I don't know about your particular car, but many Subarus, including my 99 Legacy, use an oddball 6-incher in the doors. I mistakenly ordered a 6.5-inch, which is standard in most cars, and had to send it back. Amazon.com sells a very nice 6-inch pair under the brand name Kicker. They're an exact fit with no modifications needed, and the sound is vastly better. The stockers are junk.
