hi there

also thought about buying a 95-97 (v.3) STI wagon and put the LHD dash from my WRX wagon in there (version 4), I think it's done with a gearboxchange against a v.4 box with a electronic sensor for speed.
Hope that helped you a bit

cheers
Nico

the plastic tubing attached under upper dash panel will need changing too as heater matrix output is different shape. i had to do this when swapping 97/98 dash with 99/00.

Ive done it but there is alot of hidden things to be aware of. You need the parts mainly from the later car.
Depends how far you go. I changed the dash, clocks, heaters, door card, handbrake etc the lot!!!!
The 2 fixing points on the bulkhead by the screen for the dash are wider apart so they need diy (welding new ones in) The later bonnet lever needs fixing to the lower a pillar/footwell, again different fixing points?
Roll bar/bulkead support from a pillar to a pliiar is different in shape to suit the later dash. Thats were the steering column bolts too as well?

Wiring is not that difficult but it helps when you have both looms to work with.

I was luckly that I sourced all the parts in one go when looking for a gearbox for my friend. A guy was breaking his car at the time, my friend bought the g.box and I bought the interior.

The end result for me was worth it

Steering column + wheel, ignition/indicator stalks remain the same from the earlier dash. With a few of my own mods to door cards, defi, knocklink and lambalink in speedo housing.
