Gearknob button

I have done a few searchs and found nothing so decided to ask. ne way my mate just bought a 05 wrx uk impreza today and on the gearknob there is a little button on the side of it, what is it for? ne help appreciated

Has he not tried pressing it?

It's probably an after market ****, so it probably doesn't do anything to be honest.

B & M do a gear **** with a button on it and it can activate any electrical system, line lock, roll control or nitrous system. His probably does nothing though
