There are two bolts holding the seat BASE, they are just beneath the front edge, they face forwards

Once that bit is lifted out, there are three more almost hidden along the bottom edge of the backrest. Remove them, and then give the backrest a sharp pull, knock, punt UPWARDS as it's hooked on at the top and the hooks can stick.

To refit, hook it on FIRST, then rebolt.

Four bolts through the runners, two front, two rear. DO be careful refitting these, since they are VERY soft bolts for some reason. Fit each one finger tight before tightening ANY, wiggle the seat about to get the bolt to thread in all the way with fingers alone. If it binds up, DO NOT force it or you'll be sourcing a new bolt.

Oh and spare wheel wweighs a good few lbs.

Not in mine! Just get it all lined up correctly before tightening it up

Loads of folk have changed seats, there is no problem at all, unless the seat has an airbag in it, in which case you need to be careful: disconnect battery half an hour before disconnecting airbag.

Can't remember spanner size, but somewhere around 13-15mm rings a bell.
The bolts go THROUGH the carpets, IIRC, or the carpet is ready cut at that point to allow access, so no problem.
