advice on changing steering wheel

Disconnect battery for a minimum of 30 minutes before, and while, disconnecting airbag.

Leave it disconnected until new wheel is in place and resistor connected to airbag wiring to put the light off.

REconnect it with no-one in the car, and ditto turn on the ignition from OUTSIDE the car.

Also keep keys in ignition when adding new wheel. So steering lock doesn't come on, and make sure the wheels are straight when new steering wheel goes on.

And don't forget to inform the insurance company as it will affect personal injury claims! :thumbs:

(and if its a removable boss the security goes up as its classed as Cat 3 Mechanical immobiliser! )
