Default airbags in seats

HI
I am about to remove my airbag seats on my bugeye and replace with non
airbag seats from an sti .I have not yet aquired some 3.3 ohm resistors but
will do next week, apart from the airbag light remaining on which i can
live with for the time being what else could happen, will the rest of the
airbags still work or go off etc.

no idea, but resisters are available from Maplins, they are open Sundays so if one near to you can be sorted tomorrow. I did this to mine and have had them give a bad connection sometimes, so may cut plugs off loom and solder them on to prevent any MOT issues.

issue airbag light is not a failure but maybe an advisory the abs light on dash
is a mot fail as my son in law had afew weeks ago.

The ECU uses separate channels for the frontal airbags, so will just pop up as a fault code with the side circuit.

Bit of advice, tell the insurance co about the change, they may be 'picky' in the event of an accident if they see the seats are changed.

Also you may need to visit a subaru garage to get the airbag ecu reset to clear the warning lamp after you've fitted resistors to those circuits.
