Triple gauges/digital clock mod on new age

After fitting triple Stack 52mm gauges I was looking for somewhere to retain the original digital clock. I modified the redundant ash tray and it fitted in perfectly with a little work with the Dremel.

The front facia of the ash tray is removable by unclipping it. This was then measured and cut to suit the clock.

This is the top view which shows how neatly it fits in. A hole was drilled in the bottom of the ash tray and I made up a patch loom for the wiring to extend the wires back up to plug in at their original point.
The clock was bonded into posn with 'no nails' type adhesive. It finally slots back into posn with the original slider mechanism.

good work fella , i'm sure there may be others to follow yor footsteps with this one , is it visible enough from the driving postion ?Dave
Cheers Dave, it looks factory fit! Very easy to see. I'll try and take some pics with it illuminated.
Unfortunately this mod won't work on 2003 models onwards with the curved lower console area.

what about one of these

this is what i will be using if i can figure out how to change the illumination colour of my clock
if it can't be changed I'll just ditch the clock all together
