Seriously thinking about retiring my sti as an everyday driver and using it as a weekend car/track day. Would like to strip and fit a roll cage but not explored this option before. Just wondering what kinda money im looking at and if it's a case of full cage or just the rear?

if your gonna do it imo you have to do it properly full cage or no cage

your looking from 600 - 1500 and thats if you fit it otherwise your looking around 2.5k there not that hard to fit tho i fitted one to my 205 gti took a whole day but was worth it chassis was much stiffer you can really feel the difference

You can get bolt in cages that do the job, if you scout balout you'll pick up a good second hand one.

You will struggle to find a bolt in full cage for a newage. Most places we tried are looking to have the car so that they can make a template for their first one.

Weld in are better, but you right off ever using it on the road again with back seats. Also, the car has to be fullt stripped out for fitting. No interior, no roof liner, no dash fitted, no glass in. There is a lot of splatter if you get a full cage welded in.

Wouldn't suggest fitting a full weld in cage yourself, you have to be pretty good at welding to get full seam welds in difficult places. I think it needs to be fitted by the company too if you want the certification too. Not sure though.
