You do sit higher up, but they bolt straight in.

You end up sitting way to high with the newage seats and they are not as grippy as the classic buckets when cornering hard.

Banny,

Tht was a thought i had actually, cus tbh the seats are mint especially the passenger side, it,s just the side bolster on the drivers that,s a tad saggy, if i knew of a place that repaired seats that,d be great....

I was thinking about doing it but was worried about increased height/driving position (6ft), the lowering rails F1 Fan is getting may help with this.

Seems to be a few new hatchback sti seats (black) appearing on ebay the now after rally projects etc, going for £250 ish, don't think they are a straight swap though.

I've thought about changing the seats in my 07STI as they are pretty shocking. The last ones without the airbags are a lot better but the fact i lose airbags and my girlfriend drives the car just makes it a no no

this is mine

as said they sit you approx 1 inch higher than a classic seat. they are a direct replacement apart from there is 1 bolt hole that wont match. still 4 like the classic fit though.

They do sit higher as said.... you know what the new age seat is like anyway Pete, I find you sit on it more than in it like a classic one personaly.

Check this thread out Scott had attempted to mod them so they fitted lower but it turned out to be to much work but it is worth a read.

I will try to put this into perspective... James and I are both 6' 2" - 6' 3" and we both fit in this car pretty easily.

Will let you know what they are like when I get them.

There is also another mod you can do that involves stretching the seat and back springs very slightly to make the seats more bucket like. Details over on NASIOC. May do this as well when I install the lowering rails.

Just as a note there is a big difference between the STI7 seats and the STI 8/9 seats. The latter are wider and more 'sit on' than the STI7 seats and I found them to be nowhere near as good at holding you in as the original classic seats or the STI7 seats.

BTW the STI 2008 seats on Ebay are generally the lowest spec seats not the Recaros and they will fit the classic but require a bracket making up for one of the holes.

Hope that helps.

Theyre even higher and theyre rubbish. Theyre less impressive to look at and they hold you far less than New Age seats do.

I personally think the Classic seat holds you better than any of the newage cars tbh..

I think i,ll see if i can get hold of a company that can fix the minor issues for me...

I,M A DRAMA QUEEN that,s the trouble...
