Why do you want to use a sandwich plate??? yes the defis come with all sensors and wiring. The best place to fit the senders is under the intercooler above number 3 cylinder (adaptor available to replace blanking screw thats there at the moment) Oil pressure fits under the alternator in place of existing sender and the boost runs off the Dumpvalve vacuum pipe

LOL, that's not a beating, bud

You did get advice, use the tapping on top of No3 cyl, it's cheaper, (the adaptor is around £8), and gives a better reading

Easier to take off the IC to access the bung above the No3 cylinder, adaptor is LMA 067 from memory.

The pressure sender simply replaces the OEM one under the alternator.
This can be T'd in using another adaptor or replaced, since the OE version is pants mines replaced and the wire for the original cable tied to one side.
This doesn't throw a CEL on the dash.

A sandwich plate makes the job a lot easier but to be honest the readings that you would get at the gauges would not be as accurate. There's not a lot of difference but if had bought Defi's then I would probably consider using the sensors like the other guys have suggested. Would love to see a photo when you have done the job ! Good luck mate !!

just taken delivery of a full set of Genome Defi gauges, full original Subaru kit from Japan.

And that comes with a sandwich plate for the oil temp and oil pressure, so its by no means a poor/bodge/wrong way of doing it.

Cant see how the gauges would read less accurately. Just it will read the pressure and temp at that point in its cycle through the engine.

Pics for anyone interested:

and in car, powered, but not fitted sensors yet (this weekends job!!)
