how hard is it to fit a version 5/6 dash into a version 3/4 import?

Have you tried a search on here maybe?
I'm sure the dash will physically fit quite easily, however I would imagine changing all the wiring, controls, dials etc will be what gives you (or whoever does the job) a headache!!!
If you do manage to do it (and good luck), it might be worth taking some pics and putting them on here as a how to guide?? I'm sure theres plenty on here who want to do that mod!

Version 4 has the same dash as a version 5,6 from factory if you mean fitting the late dash into the early cars then its a nightmare as a large majority if the plugs/connectors are different so there is a lot of splicing new connectors onto old wiring.Would probably be cheaper to buy a later car

V5 speedo has a different backing (soldered circuit board) plus it uses a 3 wire speed sensor?
The dash is not a direct bolt on, you need to fabricate additional fixing points to secure the dash. You will need the later cross bar as well.
The complete v4 loom with connectors, heater controls, aircon, blower motor, heater matrix unit,
There are alot of hidden parts that you will not think about that are required.
The wiring is difficult and takes time working out but can be done?
Then theres the door cards, window switches etc.
I was quoted well over 1000gbp to do the conversion so I tackled it myself.
