500 had a screen in the dash.. was a nice mod.. usually if its double din and they only take a single din it ends up getting mounted on the bottom of the dash unless you went custom slot building.

Couldn't see anything about it in his posts. Which classic does he have? I'd like to see a screen in a facelift dash.

I have a 95 classic, probably not a good idea to put it where mine is on a later unless you take the passenger airbag out.

Best idea for a later classic would be to get a flip out screen

Got any pics?
I've already ordered a Double din screen. Didn't want a flip out one.

I've got a flip out in mine, I've not seen anyone with a double din ytype one.

I started a thread a while ago, asking for anyone who had monitors in the rear headrests. no one replied to that either.

I don't think screens are a big thing in Impreza? I dunno maybe I'm wrong.

Well there are plenty of people talking about £500+ ones for Newages, but I've not seen a lot on the classics. Well none really. What you got, a facelift classic, UK or JDM?

Nice. Thats the one I'm getting, but without the gps. I'm expecting it here by tomorrow. I've bought myself an ISO adapter, so I can put that on the end of the bare wires.

Arrived yesterday. Instructions are dreadful. Make absolute no sense and is the worst translation I've ever seen. No fitting instructions either, which is a bummer.

Have not fitted it yet. Might get round to it at the weekend - will let you know when. Looks decent quality from the outside. But can't find any reference to it on the internet (aside from some wholesale portal for buying in bulk fro unknow Chinese suppliers) - so no hope of support or upgrades to the firmware/sat nav.

I've not actually fitted properly. But its been tested in the car a few times while I sort out the wiring.

The bluetooth on it connects much much faster then my parrot ck-3000 does. Only downside is the microphone for it is on the front of the unit, so its not the best position, and there is no option for an external mic.

The dvd player is ok, although the screen is touchscreen, you can't direct touch the options that you see on the screen. For example, the scene selection, extra's, language etc; You have to use an on screen cursor to get to those, then press enter.

The instructions, as with all these cheap Chinese electrics, are terrible. With words that I'm certain don't exisit in the English language, so you have to guess at what they mean.

I did complain to the seller on ebay that I couldn't tune in my previous radio stations, only Radio 1. Then I realised I never had my aerial up

One other thing you might come across, that is not covered in the instructions at all, is to actual get the screen done to put in a disc.
You'd expect the eject button to do this, but no. There is an on screen slider to the right of the screen, you press that up and down to move the screen.

Apart from that, its seems OK. The graphical interface won't win any awards, but it seems to do the trick.
