gear knob and gator

Default gear **** and gator

i recently bought this gear **** for my car
Scoobyparts Ltd GENUINE STI GEAR ****
only i tried it on tonight it doesnt quite go down the shaft far enough and gator wont stretch enough.....do i need to look for a new leather gator...if so which 1 as i dont want to buy one and find i have the same problem if i can find a leather gator that is slightly longer then the standard one on a classic thats all i would need even if it was like 10mm longer.
any help?

I have the same problem... bought an aluminium STi gearknob and found the gator's too short.
I'm looking at buying one of those universal leather gators which tie at the top, think it should be long enough.

i have a momo gear ****, the gaiter is quite low but doesnt look that bad
