Has anybody tried fitting a Black Console like the type you can get from japanparts.com(japanparts.com : PARTS DATABASE) to a 05> Model!!Which you can buy as a kit or separate!!
Sick of getting little scratches on the silver finish it has now
Fitting looks a doddle but are all the fittings the same.

 

All of the Black panels fit and are the same...i used them to convert an '05 centre console......

They so much better with the black dash..
Do the controls come out easy(ie heater switches)..I know how to get the panels out!!

The heater switches/dials jst pull off once the assembly is unscrewed form the silver panels
The warranty issues i''m not sure on.
You may be able to get the panels from Iain at Litchfield imports

 

Just put an order in with japanparts for the complete set..Cant wait to stealth out the interior..

Can you fit 05/06 into a 01 bugeye? Straight swap or does it have problems with fittings?

That basically what i did.....swapped an 03-04 console for the 05-onwards type

 

Seen a few examples where the panels were resprayed with that Platidip paint, excellent finish they achieved and it appears to be rubberised so shouldnt scrape. Theres a thread on nasioc about it

 

Just to say you can do this on the Forester as well with the FSti console bits from japanparts..

 

The bits came the other week from japparts..a doddle to fit..only thing now is two weeks later i caught the centre panel with a screw driver and its got a luv-lee scratch ..looks like another order to japparts

 

What part is this on Japanparts? I'm looking for the same parts!
