gauge fitting on a bugeye

got all the electric wiring in and done, have run all the wires into the engine bay.
i have the oil press and temp senders from gaugeplace
need to know where i will find the bits to connect them to

i'm fitting
1)boost gauge
2)oil pressure
3)oil temp







can somebody advise please

Oil pressure sender, replace the OEM one underneath the alternator.

Oil Temp, under the intercooler, above No3 cylinder you'll see a plug wuth an 8mm hex head. Remove this, it can be a right tight git to get out, and place your temp sender.
You probably will need an adaptor for this.

Boost, simply 'T' into the vacuum pipe coming off the dumpvalve on newage cars.

the one inder the intercooler was a tight 1 alright
the boost was a piece of cake

the 1 under the alternator however was a sod, got the alternator off no probs but couldnt' get the oem sender out
gave up in the end as it was absoloutley chuckin it down
gonna try again this weekend when i'll have more time.
any ideas how to get it out, other than brute force and ignorance

 

Take off the wire connector then bend the remaining lug over far enough so a socket will fit on - you can try with a spanner, but you will probably round the edges of the senor off.

 

I just used an adjustable spanner to take it out.

 

Depends how hard its been tightened.

I've fitted several now, and it tends to be 50/50 between a spanner (correct size - not adjustable ) and a socket being needed.

I always try the spanner first though, in case the lug snaps (not done so far - but that might be more luck than judgement )
