Replacing seats
#2
andy, doing this does require a bit of "customisation" to the seat runners. The trouble was that my UK95 scooby seat had the height adjustment handle - this is attached to the rear of the seat by bolts, but the front of the seat has a triangular type bracket that holds a spindle to allow the seat to pivot upwards.
The Corbeau seat I was replacing came with the subframe, but, the bracket on the runner above interfered with the seat - there was not enough clearance. However, fairly simple to sort...I was easily able to cut the top off this piece and drill 2 new holes in the runner to fix the subframe.
Hint: start with the passenger seat - I had to do two trips to halfords to get socket set & bolts! The passenger side is simple, NO DIY required.
It took me about 5 hours in total the majority on the drivers one...
But, oh boy - it was worth it!!! Went for the Corbeau carera and it is awesome. The feel of the car was transformed (it did have slippy leather seats). It is really comfortable and is more supportive than the sports seats fitted to later > MY97 models
Feel free to mail me for info...
