I have been offered an interior out of a 2000 Spec 5dr turbo... however have been informed that the door cards will not fit... due to the dash... .is there anyway of making these fit... or could I get my door cards trimmed to match???
Also what do I need to get... do I need to ask for any other panels... or the carpet or anything??
Regards
David

David,
yes they are correct, the door cars will not fit - although the rear ones might if you get all the trim with it. Someone else may be able to shed light on that one...
Yes you can get your own cards trimmed (although I haven't done it myself). Alcantre or leather shouldn't be too much.
Other things:-
- You don't need the new seatbelt mechanism, because the buckles are incompatible
- You will need you old ones to attach onto your new seats!
- If you can get the plastic covers that go over the bolts that attach the rails to the car then get those, because your old ones won't fit
- If your've got a dirty boot carpet (like mine was) then you may as well get that, because it's attached onto the back of the rear seats.
- Carpet; well, I don't know of anyone that has replaced the carpet - probably quite a lot of hassle. BUT, I think UK 94 spec is grey carpet and the black stuff does look a heck of a lot nicer
All in all, pretty straight forward to fit; maybe 30-45min tops with the right sockets.
Hope this helps,
Andy
PS. Where are you getting this from - is it a breakers? Any other bits up for grabs?

David,
no worries, I hope you get what you're after. By the way, a 5dr interior is no different from a 4dr interior is it?
I know somewhere you can get a MY97 4dr interior for around £400 if your interested. I got mine for quite a bit less but they are quite rare (as you know). I was only asking because if they had an airbagged steering wheel you should try and get hold of that as well!
mhawes - The card retrim for £70 sounds a bargin, do they do alcantre?

...as they say, you learn something everyday! Didn't really have my brain in gear - of course you've got yourself seats that completely fold down (doh!) rather than 4 door which only seat middle bit drops down.
It's a good thing there's always someone around to correct stoopid mistakes like mine. I'll get my coat now.....
Cheers,
Andy
