Question

I want to replace the crappy interior in my girlfriends 96 turbo with the half decent sports seats that came as standard late for late 96.

Do the sports seats bolt straight onto the existing fittings.

Cheers
Paul

I believe they do fit without any problem, the only thing being that a slight mod is required for the seatbelts (can't remember what though!).

Question

I am about to do this for my 94 car. I have been assured there is not a problem but I believe you need to retain the old seat belt mountings. Does anybody know definitively what the problem is and what the solution is?

Hi, I replaced poo poo blue tween interior with a 96MY(?) STi interior, one bolted off, the other straight on, no probs and no belt mods. I swapped front seats, rear seats and door pockets. Had to get the rear seat modified as the STi interior didn't have 60/40 split seats, which i wanted to keep.
Easy peasy!

Chris,

info for swapping UK MY95 seats to MY00 seats is as follows:

- Get seat INCLUDING runners and plastic runner covers (MY95 covers do not fit)
- ALL bolt holes DO line up
- MY95 has additional bolt attachment to transmission tunnel; simply not used with new MY00 seats (but do plug with old bolt or something else)
- MY95 seat belts ARE NOT compatible with MY00 seat belt attachement. That is to say, you try to 'belt up' but the mechanism does not engage.
- Simply swap MY95 belt clips onto MY00 seats. You will need an additional washer on the bolt for perfect fitting; but will fit without it - simply stands a bit 'proud'

Hope this helps - it is really easy (even I managed it)!

Cheers,

Andy
