Slow Electric Windows

Jon,
They do seem slow compared to my brothers Saab 93. I know Autocar commented on their speed. Suppose it's just another part of the Scoobies character and you get used to it.

Never sure if mine are going to make it back to the top if using them with then engine switched off.
Now I generally make sure the engine's running if the windows need operating.
Definitely makes a difference.

Thanks for the feed-back. At least I can console myself that it is a Scooby thing and not just mine. I'm now getting used to starting the window well in advance of toll booths and the like!
I too get those marks on the glass, some sort of oil from inside I guess. It is getting less now though. I don't get clunking (yet-touch wood).
Regards. Jon

WRT the the glass "clunking".
I had something similar with my rear windows. When winding them up, when they were a coupe of inches from closing, they would jerk, make a clunk, and the door trim but bulge outwards for a moment.
Turns out it was the security stickers on the glass. Even though they were stuck on properly, the mere thickness of the label was causing them to catch something inside the door.
Hope this helps

My passenger window is also a bit slow. Any ideas on how to make the front passenger window 'automatic' like the driver's side? Would replacing the switch with one like the driver's work?

Dunno about changing the switch to give an automatic window - I'd have thought (guessed) that there's a relay involved in all this somewhere that'd also need to be there.
Maybe it's a built in turbo timer cos it takes a good minute to wind the bleedin thing up... Also, about clunky windows I have a fix! Take it to a garage to get it looked at. I was going to SS for a few things and asked Pete to have a look at it. As soon as he touched the switch (to test it) it didn't do it and hasn't since. Easy!
