I have a UK MY97, and would like to install an Alpine Mini-Disc In-Dash Changer. Problem is that I only have a single DIN slot.

I know that some of the import cars come with a double DIN slot, but will it fit into a UK car? Do I need one from an import from the same year, or could I get away with an older/newer one?

Maybe there is someone with an import car, would would rather have the single DIN slot from a UK dash, and would be willing to swap.

Regards
Andy

HELLO ANDY

An in dash changer!
I do own an Alpine in dash CD changer(3 CD's
only).

But have since switched to an Alpine 6 CD changer .

Now there are several MD changers which
take 6 MD's and can be used with either your
present head unit or better still in combination with a same brand head unit.

The impreza is I SUPPOSE one of the few Japanese cars with out a double DIN dash
(there are 3 of them!!! on the legacy dash)

And even if you could modify or obtain a unit
that fits your Scooby , then you must eliminate something else in order for the double DIN unit to fit, and that would be the
ventilation-A/C controls or your ashtray
and lighter socket.

The Scooby dash has little room to spare,
but then we can not always have the things we want.....

BEST OF LUCK
