Anyone changed the colour of their ceiling trim?

Been thinking of changing from the standard light grey (a bit grubby anyway) to black. I think the most cost effective way might be to dye it, but could be prone to turning out a bit blotchy.

I'm also planning on installing a bee-sting arial, and it looks like the trim will have to come out the wire the arial in, so will do both jobs togther.

Recommendations anyone?
