Cool

What a busy boy you are! How is the Engine coming along?

The Fuel gauge and the tempreture gauge needles cannot be removed!
Don't let anyone tell you different!
However speedo and revcounter needles come off with a little patience.
Firstly they may need heating up with a hair dryer ( don't go mad though ) Then get two teaspoons and place them opposite each other with the heads under the centre of the needle then push down on the handles which will lift the needle off the spindle!
GOT THAT..... No? All I can say is go and have a look with two teaspoons in your hand and you should get the idea!
Sorry I was not any clearer with my description.

Have you ported your headers yet? If not... do it it is worth it, and think about getting an up pipe as you will not want to take it all off to fit one in the future. Still running mine in at the moment but looking forward to using the power again.
What ECU are you getting?

Good luck mate

Thumbs up

Yep I'm very busy Ive.

The engine block is awaiting rebored. I'm waiting on the new rods/pistons etc to arrive before I can start thinking of putting it all back together again. In the mean time I've got some gauges to fit, decided to remove the dash out to allow me to adjust some exisiting cables and before I knew it I had the fascia stripped and the needles off (using 2 teaspoons). Its amazing how easily removed they were. I will not try the smaller needles (someone else pointed this out to me earlier). So I now have to order the white dial kit

I had thought of replacing the up pipes as on the strip down we noticed how bloody heavy they were. What pipes did you fit ?

The japanese ecu that caused my engine **** up has been removed, I've sourced another z4 board with a scoobyecu already fitted. On advise from Mark@Lateral I've had that sent to him to safely re-map until my engine is run in then its getting mapped by Pat (Mark's mate) when he's up in Edinburgh.

Good luck with ur running in

Cool

I got a Hayward and Scott up pipe, even while running in I can feel the turbo wanting to ' spool up' quicker, then the rev limiter cuts in... Do'h. ( I have set it a 4000 )
You can cut the faces off the fuel and temperature gauges, however you must be very careful as the needles are very fine, I broke the fuel gauge needle and had to buy another gauge. However this was not a nightmare as it was only £25 from www.importcarparts.co.uk. who were very helpful.

Good luck mate
