Question

Being abit dim, can someone tell me....a)What a knocklink is/does.
b) Is it worth me getting a knocklink as my M99 has not been mapped or anything.
please forgive my ignorance and your info is much apreciated.

Try searching just on Knocklink. There's tons of stuff on here already and it's been asked so many times before.

Even standard cars are prone to some pre-detontation/knocking due to poor fuel. It's more of an insurance thing. if it shows nothing great, but you'd want to know if it does detect something.

It's just a sensor that bolts to the engine block, and listens for, and warns the driver of, any knock/pinking/det(onation), so you can lift your right foot before it does any damage.

Don't know about un-remapped cars, but if you've done any mods to exhaust/air filter, it might be wise to have one.
