Long title but I'm wondering if any can remember the
thread about a lad that manufactured a nylon washer
that held up the gaitor when replacing the OEM ****
with an after market one.
Have just done so on my car and was wondering how this
washer was made.
Have tried searching for the thread but can't find it
anywhere.
Cheers
Chris

Just use a normal household washer!!
Can't remember the size now but I had one to hold up my gaitor on my MY01.It did the job perfectly for many months until I recently changed to a Prodrive quickshift and now it holds itself up... Ooooh errr missus
Good luck

I turned an alloy collar up on the lathe, and held it in place with 3 M5 stainless cap headed screws at 120 degrees to each other.
The alloy collar is threaded M12 internally, and the gear **** is glued to it with Araldite. The collar passes right up inside the ****, and has a small lip on the bottom for the gaiter to hold on to.

Thanks for the replies lads.
The standard gear lever has a metal lip on it that you can
wind insulating tape round to make it fit but the car has the
quick shift on which is just a straight lever. i would have to
wrap a lot of insulating tape round but it might work i suppose.
I don't have access to a lathe unfortunately as that collar idea
sounds the best. Will see what I can work out, if i could find a
right size normal washer with insulating tape underneath it to
stop it falling down that might work.
cheers

Is that what this does?
subaru website
Momo Gear **** Fitting Kit.
part no: SACC2536
£ 10.00 (including VAT at 17.5%)
For £10 seems good value compared to getting a lathe Anyone know what this kit comprises as I have a rattly gaiter (Momo Race Air Leather).

I got a momo **** and gaiter from Demon Tweeks.Had the problem with the gaiter slipping down but Demon Tweeks have momo sleeve which goes into the top of the gaiter and the neck of the sleeve screws into the bottom of the **** - works a treat - if you call them they will send you free catalogue which i think shows (or used to ) the meatal sleeveprobably not a very good description!).Their number is 01978 664466.
Cheers,
John.
