.removing a door panel

can anyone run through procedure for removing a door panel before i make a first time attempt on my classic.

seen a few caps and screws but not sure if things will fall off behind if removed

Hello mate its dead easy
first wind down the window
then undo 1 screw in the door handle , pop out the clip at the front of the panel then remove the trim around the opener handle
then all you have to do is pull the bottom of panel firmly
and it should pop straight off!!

the clip you mean is the on near the a post about half way up......also noticed a cap with a screw behind it just below the handle for closing the door also what is that screw in the opening lever?

Sorry mate yes the clip is half way up at the front the screw is under a cap in the handle
i dont know what else to call it its the leaver you pull to get out of the car !! there is a trim around it .

thankx for replying doc.
ok im clear on those bits.....just that lever you pull to get out there is a screw behind that! does that need removing too?

No the leaver stays on the door .
There is no need to undo this screw...

The trim round the door lever SLIDES off, I think towards the front of the car, but it does move easily.
When "popping the trim off" at the bottom edge, a blunt-ish, wide screwdriver blade is useful: work slowly, one "popper" at a time.
