Has anybody tried to put any of those gas struts on their bonnet or boot lid of a Salon scooby??

Is it possible??

i have some legacy boot tail gate gas struts im wanting to fit to my bonnet,can it be done, any pics etc ???

 

hiya bud, I remember fitting these gas struts to a Calibra a few years ago, very very simple, and I've been looking into getting the same done for the Scooby, and it looks just the same job.

I know Tein do the struts, but they're looking near £100 for a pair! Ebay them for about £30 or so, coz I know I've deffo seen them in the past month somewhere in there (carbon or silver finish if memory serves me right).

Fitting them is dead handy, but as I haven't dont it for the Impreza yet, I've no pics for ya. If yer stuck, gimme a shout and I'll give you a few pointers bud.

No idea about the Legacy struts especailly with regards to length and pressure but you can get dedicated bonnet struts for classics and newage now with all the brackets and mounts needed to fit them, safer option IMHO

I fitted a set of bonnet struts to my MY05 Sti....took about ten minutes and they do the job just fine!!
